The KAMC Military Transition Program helps veterans find gainful employment and training in the plumbing and HVAC industries. Through KAMC’s unique partnership with employers and expertise in training, they can help you navigate into a rewarding and lifelong career.

Step 1

Application & Submission of Documents

Fill our KAMC application for services located at: www.kyamcfoundation.org

Submit copies of all your DD214s of training/service for review.

Step 2

Application Review & Pathway Determination

KAMC team will review your application and experience to help determine which pathway would work best for you.

Step 3A

Prep Course Pathway

If you have 2 years equivalent military experience, KAMC would recommend that you familiarize yourself with the journeyman tests and applicable State & National Codes.

Prep Course offered by KCTCS in Florence, Lexington, & Louisville. $125-205/6 weeks.

Journeyman Test Fees:

HVAC - $100

Plumbing - $85

Step 3B

Training Pathway

If it is determined you need additional training in the plumbing or HVAC field, KAMC will help you attend the Building Mechanical Sciences Program, a one-year accelerated program aimed at getting you trained in the field and ready for your journeyman test.

Step 4

Finding Employment

Once establishing your pathway, KAMC will help you gain employment in the industry through one of their many partner employers.
